A commission is a unique piece for your home or a thoughtful gift for a friend, colleague, or loved one.
In our lives, art has the power to evoke emotions like no other, and that's why commissions are so special – they capture a moment in time in your story.
I have completed many commissions and have had very positive responses when they are revealed. I love seeing the look on someone’s face when they unwrap the finished painting.
Commissions bring me genuine joy as I see them become treasured gifts for loved ones. There's nothing quite like contributing to such a meaningful gesture. Commissions allow me to explore new subjects and sometimes new styles.

Let’s work together
When you contact me for a commission I will discuss with you, all of your wants and needs. I will give you my honest opinion of how I may or may not be able to create this for you. If you have a look at my gallery, you will see the kind of artist that I am, and what I do and don’t do!

You choose, paper or canvas?
Both paper and canvas will have at least 2 coats of varnish on them for longevity. The acrylic paints I use create a vibrancy to my work.
Paper:
-
Smooth surface which is ideal for fine details and delicate strokes
-
Acid-free and archival which ensures longevity and prevents yellowing
-
Requires framing, this can provide additional protection and enhances the piece
-
Choose between gloss, satin or matte varnish
-
Limited sizes
Canvas:
-
Textured surface which adds depth and dimension to bolder styles, can also work with detail
-
Ready to hang and no framing needed, saving time and cost (you can still get them framed if you want to)
-
Durable and versatile, can handle thicker paint layers and mixed media
-
Available in various sizes which offers flexibility for different spaces
-
Choose to have the painting continue around the edges of the frame, or have the edges painted in a solid colour (usually black)
-
Choose between gloss, satin, or matte varnish

How long does it take?
This will depend upon the size of the painting and is quite difficult to be exact. To ensure timely delivery, plan well in advance. It also depends on my workload at the time and sometimes there may be a waiting list for commissions. When I can start your commission, I normally allow between 2 – 6 weeks for completion.

How much will it cost?
I usually quote for each painting but as a rough guide an A3 (297 x 420mm) will cost around £250. This will be the same price for canvas or paper.

I will ask for a 50% (non-refundable) deposit of the quoted price. This is to ensure that I am not out of pocket if you change your mind. If for any reason I am unable to complete the commission, you will be refunded in full.

I reserve the copyright to the painting and unless previously discussed, I may make cards and prints from the original for future use.

What’s next?
Have a dream artwork in mind? Whether it's a cherished photograph or a place close to your heart, your unique commission starts here! Simply reach out with your idea via email – let's turn it into reality!

We'll chat further over email and phone to refine your vision, ensuring your personalized painting comes to life exactly as you imagine.

You will get updates every step of the way, and you do have a choice to see photos of the painting’s progression. Although I don’t recommend this, as most paintings always go through phases where they don’t look so great! I also think you get more excited when you have to wait!
